Some of the comments on this piece are hilarious. It's interesting how many people on deviantArt fail to "get it". Design is less about how much you push a mouse around, and more about the taste of the designer. What the designer finds to be beautiful or stylish. Not the technical skill or the amount of time involved.

But then it WAS interesting to see the *cough* "Galleries" of the naysayers. If you can call them galleries.

Too many people think difference between a designer and a GOOD designer is how much shit you can shove into a piece of work. Rather, the real difference that defines an accomplished designer is the *taste* of that designer, the creative decisions they do or do not make.

Design is far more an art than it is a science. People who have good taste are those who survive in this industry.

Perhaps I am really stupid, but what does Fata Morgana have to do with a desert and dead trees ? When I think of Fata Maorgana I think of a beautiful, dark ans powerful woman, not dying nature...

I think, if you had to make this wallpaper, you'd paint it purely on a tablet, or use 3D instead of a photo.. ;]

The photograph could be nice, but do they alwasy have to be ruined with completely useless graphics? Im sorry, but this is my opinion.

It depends on the point of view in my opinion. For me, this photo was only a 'background' for putting some subtle shapes to it.
That's what i think, cause i foten try to make photos more digital, & put more digital shapes there, however this photo contains some lovely shapes itself.
